I ended up with the special edition yesterday.

It is definitely a nice looking game for a Switch title... I wish that there was SOME AA though, because whilst a 2D game, there are many many moments where the game will move to a 3rd person perspective (At 30fps) and the aliasing sticks out like a sore thumb.

It -is- 60 fps though, although many animations run at 30fps and there is some stuttering.

Audio is great, I didn't hesitate to crank the sound level (Probably at my neighbors disgust) of my surround sound system...

As for controls, I don't have everything in muscle memory like Super Metroid just yet... So I am extremely clunky... But Charging up your omega cannon by Aiming with L, Charging with R and firing with Y is not intuitive in my opinion.

With that... Metroid is back. It's not Super Metroid, but I am okay with that.

I hope for a remastered version on future Nintendo hardware, higher resolutions will help make the assets pop I think.
