The devs of Destruction All-Stars are rumored to be working on this new Twisted Metal game, which considering the studios past games, makes a lot of sense! I personally haven't been able to play Destruction AS yet as I haven't even been able to find a PS5 yet lol, but I have read the game would be better if it had weapons, which Twisted Metal is perfect for!!!
With it possibly being FTP, as much as I would prefer for it to be a full game, it is a franchise that could use as much publicity as possible. Especially with the TV show that's being developed, it'll bring a lot of people to try out the new game, and vice versa bringing the franchise to the much needed limelight. If only Wipeout got the same treatment........oh well lol.
I trust Sony would make sure the devs do the franchise justice and don't take the game into the realm of other predatory FTP games. We'll have to wait and see.
If there is one aspect of Sony's first-party output they need work on, it is multiplayer titles, and with what Naughty Dog is working on, and a rumored Marvel multiplayer game by Insomniac, Sony is hard at work on this!
