I can go as far as spending 10-15% (sometimes 20-25%) of my wage every month only with games and I, at best, buy 3 games a month (if it's a Nintendo physical game, then it's only one for a month). I can do this because I live with my grandfather and don't have wife or kids, once I start living all by myself I will need to stop gaming for a while (I will need to buy furniture instead of electronics like consoles) or just playing free games (have done that before when I was a teenager), I'm not really tempted to go back to piracy now I'm grown ass man

Late last year I spent almost $10,000 on new console hardware (Playstation 5+Xbox Series X), PC and video games in just a month.
Baffles my mind how people need to do such stringent budgeting to afford a single game...

Everyone views money differently. I'm blessed enough where I could buy most items and not think about it if that's what I wanted. I would rather invest my money and retire earlier in life (50's if not 40's) than overspend on things now. I have no doubt Ratchet and Clank is going to be one of my favorite games, and I haven't bought it yet. I'll probably hold off on it entirely and ask for it for Christmas.
