Yea it feels like a lot of innovation has gone out the window for a safe and more generic approach for a lot of AAA developers. Instead of aiming for a certain audience, these games are trying to cater to the masses and doing a poor job even at that.

I am still quite annoyed when it came to cyberpunk. It had so much potential from a very well know and beloved developer yet they managed to goof it. I am not an xbox fan but I don't recall people loving 343 to my knowledge and these devs continue to goof it up. MCC's original xbox launch was terrible. Halo 5 was disliked by many and Infinite gameplay reveal last year was a disaster. How many times does 343 need to goof up before MS realizes that 343 isn't worthy of a flagship title like Halo. They should outsource it to someone that actually cares about the franchise instead of giving it to a developer that has repeated proven they don't know what they are doing.

I'm double annoyed by 2077, mainly because they fucked up big time and still answer primarily to investors, despite all the shit that hit the fan. The other is the insane, brain-washed fanboys over on the Steam forums, who do nothing but post defensively time and time again (seriously, check some of their post history and it's only them spending time in 2077 Steam forums 24/7), and I know that 2077 at this point is well beyond salvation, but those fanboys seem to think it's perfect already...

I don't think 343 ever reached that level of love that Bungie got, not since they decided to stick their dick into already established lore, while trying to "add" to it and retcon a few things (not very fond of retcons for nearly any story tbh). I'm still miffed that MCC is still somehow stuck at 60fps, for an FPS game that's a sin in today's age.

I really think some of these big companies need to hire actual people that care about the games, the lore and what's actually fun and feature complete, instead of "yeah this looks good to ship, toss some extra MT's on top of it!". I wouldn't say hire some fans (even though that worked well for Sonic Mania), because some can get a bit high on the ego trip or self insert themselves/put too much focus on certain characters over others (looking at you Sylvanas fans).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
