If EA pulled off a HD rehash like what Nintendo is doing with Skyward Sword? The internet would be all over it trolling. (or any company for that matter. Let's say Sony releases God of War 3 on PS5, brand it as HD and sold it as 60 bucks? 

So does Nintendo get a free pass? Yes. 

All I see is constant bashing Nintendo over the price of Skyward Sword HD, clearly you haven't been on the internet lol. If EA did something like that it would be far less hostile than most of their methods so would certainly get much more of a free pass than it does now.

The only reason this isn't affecting review scores in Skyward Sword's case as much is because the game is still good. Critics for the most part aren't gonna care what the price of the game is, that's not what they're reviewing. It's debatable whether or not the game is worth full price as a remaster, but that doesn't change the quality of the product so I don't see your point here.
