Friday news, part two:
Capcom promises patch for Resident Evil Village stuttering issue seemingly caused by DRM

(...)
Without directly saying that DRM is the cause (it's notable that this stuttering does not appear in the console versions, according to Digital Foundry), Capcom has acknowledged that there's a problem, and said a fix is on the way. It told us yesterday the company was "currently looking into the reported PC performance issues" before sending over a new statement this morning: "The team is working on a patch to address PC performance issues which will be available soon. We'll share more details as they’re available."
GTA Online's next big update brings the va-va-vroom to Los Santos
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/gta-onlines-next-big-update-brings-the-va-va-vroom-to-los-santos/
Rockstar has released a new trailer and the details of GTA Online's next major update, Los Santos Tuners, which will arrive for all players on July 20. The main addition is a "gigantic" new social space called the LS Car Meet, where players can show-off their cars to one another, mod vehicles alongside each other, pick up missions from shady contacts, and of course get involved in a tonne of racing.
God of War actor Christopher Judge will voice Black Panther in Marvel's Avengers
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/god-of-war-actor-christopher-judge-will-voice-black-panther-in-marvels-avengers/
Christopher Judge, best known to gamers for his portrayal of Kratos in God of War (although he'll always be First Prime of Apophis to me), is joining the Marvel's Avengers cast as the voice of Black Panther. The new character will be added as part of the War for Wakanda DLC that's set to arrive in August.

Hackers begin leaking stolen data after Vice refuses to help them blackmail EA
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/hackers-begin-leaking-stolen-data-after-vice-refuses-to-help-them-blackmail-ea/
In June, hackers breached Electronic Arts data servers and reportedly made off with the full source code for FIFA 21 and the Frostbite Engine that's used in EA shooters including the upcoming Battlefield 2042. Shortly thereafter, according to a new Vice report, they attempted to extort the publisher, an effort that met with failure—so now, they're beginning to release the source code publicly.
Call of Duty: Warzone adds then immediately removes useful loadout feature
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/call-of-duty-warzone-adds-then-immediately-removes-useful-loadout-feature/
Raven Software has pulled Call of Duty: Warzone's new handy loadout feature thanks to a few pesky bugs.
The pre-game lobby loadout option was added earlier this week, letting you sort out your custom weapon loadouts before jumping into a match. It meant when loadout crates dropped during a match, you'd automatically be fitted with the custom loadout you sorted in the pre-game lobby, saving yourself some precious time from faffing with it mid-game (thanks, Eurogamer).
Quakecon 2021 is virtual but still wants you to 'bring your own PC'
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/quakecon-2021-is-virtual-but-still-wants-you-to-bring-your-own-pc/
QuakeCon was first held in 1996 and is thus one of the most venerable gaming celebrations around. These days it's obviously bankrolled by Zenimax and thus the slight counter-culture vibe it had in the '90s is long-gone: but hey, it's still got games. The pandemic forced QuakeCon 2020 to move online and, taking no chances, QuakeCon 2021 has now been announced as a digital-only event, to be held over August 19-21.
