Why? In what industry is that a standard? I paid for movies on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Super-bit, Blu-ray, director's cuts. Why do they keep charging me since already paid my "fee' in the 80s. Why do I need to pay Netflix extra to see the same stuff in 4K instead of 1080p.

Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, etc don't simply work on their own. FH4 doesn't work with a DS4 either, I had to buy a 360 controller, outrage! Why doesn't every game on PC support VR automatically when you by a headset!

I paid CAD 160 for FS2020 ($120) for a beta version basically, so that $70 price point is pretty generous in comparison. It sold pretty well.

What baffles me is that people continue to complain about companies charging money for optional features. You bought a game for PS4, it's complete and uses all features of the PS4. Why would that entitle you to a free upgrade to a different system with extra newly added features?

If you bought the PS5 then by default you should have those features unlocked. It's a console feature not a game feature. They are locking a console feature behind a $10 paywall when you already bought the console. If a game has DualSense features and I buy that game on PS4 and play it on PS5 then yeah we should get those features for free since we can play the game on the PS5. We already paid our upgrade "fee" to have PS5 features in the games we buy, so why do we have to pay again to unlock those features when we already bought the Goddamn console?

Haptic feedback is on ps4? You're confusing standard rumble with dual sense feedback and resistive triggers. It's like expecting analog movement to automatically work on a ps1 game made before the dual shock was released.

The new features were added later, why would the ps4 version get them for free?
Why would you buy the ps4 version to play on ps5?
That's like buying the blu-ray version, then complain you don't get the 4K blu-ray version with it for free. Even though you bought a goddamn 4K blu-ray player.

It's really simple, Sony doesn't want you to buy the (cheaper) ps4 version in a bargain bin somewhere or second hand (digital or physical) and get a full ps5 version for free out of it. Same reason why games on ps3 got an online pass when online play was still free. First owner gets online benefits, second has to pay for them. People complained, so now we all got to pay continuously to play online. So you can complain, but the only effect it might have is no more BC at all since it just leads to more dissatisfaction and just full price remasters like Nintendo atm.
