"In mid-July, we’ll be rolling out a new iteration of sliders that creates even more opportunities to support important causes. While splits on each bundle will vary, on average there will be a minimum amount for Humble Bundle between 15 – 30%. Sliders will clearly indicate any minimums to customers and the flexibility to adjust donations will be available in every purchase of a bundle. This change comes after ten years of having the option to lower Humble’s percentage to zero." https://blog.humblebundle.com/2021/07/01/changes-coming-to-humble-bundle-sliders/ Humble Bundle is once again messing with the sliders. It's not as bad as last time when you could only donate a maximum of 15% to charity, and I usually did leave about 10% to HB, but I am still not pleased with this move. "NIS America, the (shockingly) American arm of Japanese company NIS, has announced that they will be raising the price of a variety of their games on PC based platforms. This will impact all the expected PC store versions including Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, in addition to Google Stadia" | Game Name | Old Price | New Price |
https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/nisa-pc-game-prices-getting-hiked-up Bummer, some of these games are on sale in the Steam Summer Sale. |
It's a shame that the owners of Humble don't realize that, if they try to press their customers into giving them more money, they'll push them away to other stores like Fanatical, Green Man Gaming or the same platforms they sell keys for, Steam, GOG, UPlay, etc. After all, what's the point of buying there instead of through other stores if you can't decide where your money goes?
The NIS America situation is... troublesome, to say the least. I could understand some price increases due to fluctuations in the currency exchange, and so increases of $5 like the ones in some games are kind of acceptable. But the increase for some games is twice the original price! This smells as dire need for money.
