That factored into my criteria as well. If we take the 360 out of the equation and leave the PS3 the only place where I could play Bioshock and all of the other great games of the 7th gen, then PS3 has a much stronger case. And that's certainly one way to grade them. But when I think of Bioshock on console I think of it as a 360 game because I played it there over a year before it ever came out on PS3, and as others have said, many 3rd party games just ran better on 360.
It's similar to how I compare the Gamecube vs the Wii. Objectively speaking, the Wii would win hands down because it plays everything Gamecube can and tons more, including the Virtual Console. Plus, Wii has even better versions of two of my favorite Gamecube games, Metroid Prime and RE4. But those games didn't have the same effect on me that they had several years earlier when I first experienced them on the Cube (although Prime's control was god-like with the IR pointer). In fact, even comparing the 1st party offerings on each console I prefer GC to Wii except where Mario is concerned, as Galaxy and MK Wii absolutely destroy Sunshine and Double Dash and we got a 2D Mario out of it. But to me, Wind Waker is vastly better than Skyward Sword, Thousand Year Door > Super Paper Mario, Smash and Animal Crossing impressed me more on Gamecube, the Pikmin remakes had too many bugs (no pun intended) and other Nintendo published titles like Eternal Darkness, F-Zero GX and Rogue Leader were more my cup of tea than Wii Sports/Play/Fit. We did finally get a new Punch Out on Wii though... that was nice.
All in all, I look at it as how I would list my favorite consoles of all time: Gamecube would be in the top 5 for sure, whereas the PS3 wouldn't rank anywhere in the top 10.
