Yea MS is very behind in controller tech sadly. Hell MS still includes AA batteries instead of rechargeable ones unless you pay extra for those.

I prefer AA batteries. When a pair of Eneloops is empty I can replace them within a few seconds against a recharged pair and can keep on playing wirelessly. If these rechargable batteries go bad, I can easily replace them with others. If the controller gets broken, I can use these rechargable batteries in a different device.

On PlayStation I have to connect a wire for a few hours if I want to keep on playing (or have to switch to a charged DS4 / DualSense). Changing a bad battery is more expensive and much less convenient. If the controller gets broken, I'm much more limited to use the battery in a different device.

Yea but my issue is that MS sells their rechargeable battery kit separately. They should include it with the Series X controller and still keep the functionality of being able to swap things out since if you buy the charging kit and the battery dies, it easy to swap it out with AA batteries if you really want to.
