To coincide with the 2021 playoffs, Fortnite has announced a collaboration with the National Basketball Association. Boasting the rather straightforward title of Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover, it brings 31 basketball uniforms to the item shop on May 21 (8 pm ET), which includes all 30 NBA teams, as well as an NBA-themed team battle mode that has already begun.

Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes gets another teaser trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/dark-pictures-anthology-house-of-ashes-gets-another-teaser-trailer/
House of Ashes, the third out of the eight planned games in the Dark Pictures Anthology, got another bite-sized trailer today. Whereas the first trailer showed off the setting as well as star Ashley Tisdale (yet to be officially confirmed), this trailer is more focused on setting up a spooky mood. We already know that House of Ashes tells the story of a military unit that wakes something better left sleeping below a Sumerian temple, and in this trailer that seems to be exactly what's going on—as a soldier makes his way through the temple, he happens upon a colleague, who by the looks of it has had a bit of an accident.

https://www.pcgamer.com/take-two-says-an-all-new-gearbox-franchise-is-coming-sometime-before-april-2022/
Take-Two Interactive said yesterday that it plans to release 62 games through its 2024 fiscal year, ranging from "immersive core" games to independents—although I'm not entirely clear on how a multi-billion-dollar publisher can seriously claim to be putting out indie games. Anyway, we were left to guess about what those games will actually be, but Take-Two did reveal that one of them will be something—something brand new, apparently—from Gearbox.

Bethesda's official forums will be closed for good next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/bethesdas-official-forums-will-be-closed-for-good-next-week/
As an old guy on the internet, I have a real fondness for forums. Social media has largely usurped their utility, but it can't match the sense of community that comes from hanging out with a (relatively) small group of like-minded fans of particular games, movies, music, or whatever else is interesting enough to bring people together. Sadly, nostalgia does not equal relevance, and next week Bethesda Softworks will begin the process of shutting its forums for good.

https://www.pcgamer.com/more-outriders-games-are-likely-thanks-to-35-million-players-milestone/
Outriders attracted 3.5 million unique players in April, and according to Square Enix the series is “on track to become the company’s next major franchise.” In other words, the possibility of an Outriders 2 seems high, not to mention updates to the existing game.
>> What do you say now, huh?

Hundreds of Final Fantasy 14 players have been paying tribute to Kentaro Miura, the creator of manga Berserk who died at the age of 54.
Images and videos began cropping up on Twitter and reddit over the last few hours, which show hundreds of characters lined up around one of the starting cities, Ul'dah, with others also gathering in Limsa Lominsa. Players have all switched to the Dark Knight class—which draws heavy influence from Berserk—with many characters posing with their swords in the ground.

Every Thursday, GTA Online gets a new set of sales and bonuses—the latter usually in the form of a reward multiplier for completing one of its myriad activities. This week, though, Rockstar is doing something a little different: offering a one-time, guaranteed chance at the golden panther statue in the Cayo Perico heist.

Technology company Lenovo tasked a market research consultancy with conducting a survey on the experience of female gamers and found that for most of them, harassment is still part and parcel of the gaming experience, with 59% of participants saying they avoid revealing their gender in order to be left in peace.
>> To be honest, my biggest surprise is not the result, but that it comes from Lenovo.
