Steam’s “price parity rule” isn’t wreaking havoc on game prices

https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2021/05/why-lower-platform-fees-dont-lead-to-lower-prices-on-the-epic-games-store/

I was wondering when someone was gonna make an article about this. Basically shows what we have known before where even when a game isn't on steam and Epic games asks for a lower % cut, the savings doesn't get past onto the customers but rather, the publisher simply charges the same while making more money. There are some exceptions but majority just take the money and laugh their way to the bank.

People still believed Timmy like they believed Reagan back in the day, and nothing really became anything of Reaganomics, and naturally nothing of this either.

I always knew these cuts and deals meant the publishers would benefit way more, while the customers hardly benefitted at all, but somehow, fans of EGS will tout it's better somehow than GoG/Steam...

I can't believe normies don't see this racket shit going on.

Yea pretty much. It was all marketing from the start and even Epic Games said the 12% isn't sustainable.

The only ones that believed in all these nonsense didn't like steam in the first place imo.
