Teen Titans' Beast Boy joins Fortnite as a new skin
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-beast-boy/
Like a lot of you, I grew up watching Cartoon Network's Teen Titans. Sure, Robin was badass, Raven was chill, and Starfire was cute. But Beast Boy? Beast Boy was a bro. Which is why I'm glad that A) he's stuck around in the DC fandom conscience since his original rise and that B) he's now getting turned into a gorilla-sized skin in Fortnite.
>> And, apparently, banana's nude body briefly became the focus of Epic v Apple trial.

Ubisoft has begun branding games it develops internally as "Ubisoft Originals."
Speaking to Eurogamer, a Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed that the company will use the label on future in-house games, saying, "Moving forward the 'Ubisoft Original' mention is attached to all of Ubisoft's games created in-house by our talented developers."

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is coming to PC later this year
https://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-dark-alliance-is-coming-to-pc-later-this-year/
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is an action-RPG released in 2001 for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. It's more in the vein of Diablo than Baldur's Gate, though, with preset characters, linear progression, and a relatively small number of NPCs. It was also never released for PC—but that will change later this year.

Terry Cavanagh, the creator of indie classics like VVVVVV and Super Hexagon, just released a new game—but you’ll need to sign-up for Roblox to play it. Climb the Giant Man is an ‘obby’ (basically a platformer obstacle course that’s easy for newcomers to make within Roblox) created in three months by the Irish developer, who has tweeted about his progress since early March.

BioShock Infinite developers talk about what a mess its development was
https://www.pcgamer.com/bioshock-infinite-developers-talk-about-what-a-mess-its-development-was/
An excerpt from journalist Jason Schreier's new book on game development, published on Polygon, tells a familiar story of triple-A game development: BioShock Infinite was a mess for much of its development, and many of its developers had to crunch for months to ship the game in 2013. Developers who spoke to Schreier talked about how "challenging" it was to work with Ken Levine. Many called the BioShock director a creative "genius" but said he often had trouble communicating his ideas or leading the 200-plus developers at Irrational. Since the excerpt's publication, other former Irrational developers have shared their experiences on Twitter, offering more personal stories from their years working on BioShock Infinite.

The next Gears of War will run on Unreal Engine 5, but don’t expect it anytime soon
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-next-gears-of-war-will-run-on-unreal-engine-5-but-dont-expect-it-anytime-soon/
The next Gears of War game will use Unreal Engine 5, and as a result, Gears studio The Coalition will “not be announcing any new projects or titles for some time.” That’s because shifting to a new engine is a big undertaking, in the studio’s words, which makes perfect sense.

Reverse-engineered GTA III source code is back online
https://www.pcgamer.com/reverse-engineered-gta-iii-source-code-is-back-online/
Earlier this year, a group of hackers successfully managed to reverse-engineer the source code for Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City. For their efforts, the project was swiftly stamped out by a Take-Two DMCA takedown. But one developer didn't just disagree with the publisher's decision—they successfully fought back, bringing the fan-made code repository back online.

This dungeon crawler is built inside a 200,000 page PDF
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-dungeon-crawler-is-built-inside-a-200000-page-pdf/
Undying Dusk might have a credible claim at being the longest choose-your-own-adventure book ever written, cramming a fully-featured dungeon crawler into a hefty 200,000 page PDF file.
Available for free over on Itch.io, Lucas Cimon's retro RPG doesn't immediately jump off the page—after all, there are dozens of classic dungeon crawlers on the store. That is, until you realise the game is effectively one giant book, each page a single frame of its sprawling labyrinth.

Fortnite may be getting a new 'Daybreak' PVE survival mode
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-may-be-getting-a-new-daybreak-pve-survival-mode/
Epic may be preparing to bring a new PVE survival sandbox to Fortnite, as files referencing "Daybreak" appear in today's 16.40 patch.
As spotted by Eurogamer, the latest Fortnite update includes references to an "open world simulation sandbox" previously teased by leaker Hypex earlier this month. From the looks of various leaks, Daybreak takes place on an entirely different map from Battle Royale, and involves hunting monsters, scavenging and crafting items before making your escape with other players by repairing a helicopter before the game's third night.
