You know I've never thought about the need to drastically change the Dashboard interface, I've always been relatively happy with it. The article does make good points though from a design perspective and I admire what's been said and done.
Who knows, they may very well be on to something there. Maybe this is why there was no dashboard update? Rather then just implementing new features there could be so much more in the works.
