Thanks for the review, I had it on my to watch for list after Eurogamer's praise
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2021-oddworld-soulstorm-how-systems-driven-graphics-and-gameplay-deliver-an-unforgettable-experience

I'll remove it from my list, not looking for frustration. It seems to be another graphics over fun game play situation.

A lot of gamers have higher expectations for this game. Some are also enjoying it. You can test it and give your own opinion about it.

I mean, I don't think it's the expectations: you HAVE to be a glutton for punishment or really just not give a rats ass about the entire goal of the game in saving Mudokons to enjoy it lol...  I basically go on "media shutout" prior to and during a review of a game until I've completed my own, but you can see how it's basically unanimous that the game is "brutal"/"difficult"/"challenging"/"frustrating" on the whole.  When mostly everyone is saying it, it means it's just that prominent, and some of us (like myself) just don't like that part of the game's trial-and-error method is trolling you with situations you can't possibly see coming until you die several times, ergo... frustration :P

I enjoyed the remake a lot. Once I have a ps5 I might consider trying it out. At least restarts/reloads should be quick from ssd.

Good point: I didn't even think of what it would be like on the PS4, though from what I can tell from the engine, a lot of the assets between checkpoints remain "loaded" and just reset position, so the "reload" times after death on PS4 should still be seconds like the PS5.
