The specs are:

  • CPU: Intel i5-10400. Not as good as the 11400 but it's still a 6-core/12-threads part that will serve him well
  • RAM: 2x8GB 2400MHz DDR4. Not the fastest but, since it's not for games, the performance penalty will be minimal
  • Mobo: Gigabyte H410M H. Not going to lie, it was the cheapest board with an HDMI output.
  • SSD: A 480GB Crucial BX500

Total hardware cost: 349.77€

Windows is another 80€, but thankfully my brother had a spare copy of office. Apparently it's from work, they gave him a windows copy but he uses a Mac (poor loser), and they gave him a Mac version without asking the other one back.

Honestly, I have the same kit (though I bought two kits instead), and my perf in games hasn't been that bad, but I would love to upgrade to a faster kit. Might as well just wait for DDR5.
