Gonna say 7th gen. The 360 was handled much better than the X1, and had some real heavy hitting exclusives to boot. For the majority of the gen it could be considered a must own console, despite drying up in the last two years.
The PS3 stumbled out of the gate, but it also laid the foundation for the 1st party IPs that were built upon and continued in gen 8. And when it comes to some of those IP like TLoU, Uncharted, and Infamous...the best entries by a wide margin were NEW on the PS3.
The Wii might be my least favorite Nintendo console, but it gave me one of my favorite Zelda games...Skyward Sword. It also gave us Metroid Prime 2/3, Mario Galaxy series, and Xenoblade Chronicles...so all things considered it had a lot to offer. Much more than the WiiU overall (even though I liked the WiiU as a console more).
