Budget for Amazon's Lord of the Rings Season 1 is over $450m USD ($650m NZD) and they can get an additional rebate of $160 million from the government

For comparison, the most expensive season for Game of Thrones was 100 million. Either this will be one god tier season or one of the biggest miss steps from a company.
