You can see in the lost planet screen, where the creases are they look like bumps in the clothes, making it look like it's just painted on the body of the characters. The illusion of separation of the clothes from the actual body is lacking which is exactly what I feel the uniform in Killzone achieves.
Still, the clothes in Lost Planet looks more real (Especially on the main character and the girl) than the armor in Gears.
