Sorry, yes I meant Taiwan. I was thinking about Samsung and mixed both.
The menace of firing somone because there are others that would take his/her place is used too often, and sometimes it's an empty menace. In a business like TSMC, you need competent and trained people to run your business, and while you can obviously train new ones, you can't do that fast enough if enough people go on strike or "get sick" at the same time.
