Thursday news, part two:

Zombies are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone
https://www.pcgamer.com/zombies-are-coming-to-call-of-duty-warzone/
Call of Duty: Black Ops received its season two update earlier today, and a minor part of the new content confirms the long-teased arrival of zombies in Call of Duty: Warzone. A bunch of calling cards added to the game (basically player banners linked to challenges) reference killing zombies in Warzone (spotted by Eurogamer), with text including the likes of: "In Warzone, eliminate 8 zombies before the first circle closes."

Bethesda and parent company Zenimax Media are facing a class-action lawsuit concerning the DLC for Fallout 4, which is currently in the discovery phase. The action was launched in 2019 and revolves around Fallout 4's Season Pass, which was sold before the game's release with the following promise: “To reward our most loyal fans, this time we’ll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30 [...] Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you’ll get it all with the Season Pass.”

A development update on Crusader Kings 3 (PCG's strategy game of 2020) details some of the changes coming in the game's 1.3 update, with the most major being the introduction of Winter to your holy wars. The season will come in three different varieties of harshness, depending on geography, and affect armies in a wide variety of ways.

Leaked Rainbow Six Parasite gameplay appears online
https://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-parasite-quarantine-gameplay-leak/
New details on Rainbow Six Parasite, the long-awaited Siege spinoff centered around co-op alien slaying, are starting to emerge after a long silence. Ubisoft is staying tight-lipped on the game until it's good and ready, but that hasn't stopped leakers from doing what they do best. Yesterday, a brief gameplay clip from Parasite (a codename Ubi is using until it decides on a final title) appeared on the Siege subreddit.

Fortnite is likely getting an Alien xenomorph skin
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-xenomorph-alien/
Fortnite season 5 might genuinely be the wildest thing ever, even with season 4 having been a gigantic ad for Marvel. The theme of "hunters" coming together from across the multiverse to do battle has resulted in some of the greatest/dumbest cross-franchise collaborations I've ever seen in a game marketed primarily (though not exclusively) to kids and teenagers.
Which is why it doesn't surprise me at all to tell you that the next major leak for Fortnite season 5 is a new skin based on Alien's xenomorph.

US politician pitches a fresh new idea: Ban Grand Theft Auto
https://www.pcgamer.com/us-politician-pitches-a-fresh-new-idea-ban-grand-theft-auto/
The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that, following a rise in carjackings in and near the city of Chicago, Illinois State Representative Marcus C Evans Jr is proposing a ban on the sale of violent vidogames. Bill HB3531, introduced by Evans last week, seeks to amend Illinois' Violent Video Games Law in the Criminal Code of 2012, which currently restricts the sale or rental of violent videogames to minors, "to prohibit the sale of all violent video games."

Minecraft Dungeons 'Flames of the Nether' arrives alongside a free endgame update
https://www.pcgamer.com/minecraft-dungeons-flames-of-the-nether-arrives-alongside-a-free-endgame-update/
Minecraft Dungeons just got even more Minecraft dungeons in the form of Flames of the Nether. It's a paid DLC pack and, as the name implies, it's set in the Nether. Down below you'll gain access to six missions, which if all goes smoothly should net you a bunch of new weapons, gear and artifacts—but you'll need to murder a bunch of new Nether-themed enemies to get that loot.

World of Warcraft's community is grappling with allegations of widespread racism in its top-end raiding guilds
https://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcrafts-community-is-grappling-with-allegations-of-widespread-racism-in-its-top-end-raiding-guilds/
Two of World of Warcraft's top North American raiding guilds have been called out for racist and intolerant behavior, sparking a wider discussion about racism and toxicity in WoW's competitive scene.
Early this week, an image gallery containing around 70 screenshots began circulating within different WoW communities showing 16 members of raid guild Clout Gang and Instant Dollars. Those images, taken from sources including private Discord servers and World of Warcraft's in-game chat, show members of Clout Gang and Instant Dollars frequently using the n-word and making jokes about murdering Black people in addition to homophobic and sexist comments. Though far from the biggest guilds in WoW's global raiding scene, Clout Gang and Instant Dollars are both top-tier raiding guilds on their respective servers.

Street Fighter V update makes it impossible for blind people to play
https://www.pcgamer.com/street-fighter-v-update-makes-it-impossible-for-blind-people-to-play/
Capcom pushed out an update for Street Fighter V a few days ago which has alienated a chunk of its players: blind gamers.
Patch 3.05 introduced returning fighter Dan Hibiki as well as add a new stage along with other tweaks, but the update also switched the audio from stereo to mono, a change that has had a huge impact on blind Street Fighter players.
>> I'm actually surprised that blind gamers can play a game like Street Fighter.

System Shock remake gets a final demo today ahead of summer launch
https://www.pcgamer.com/system-shock-remake-demo-preorders/
It won't be long now. When the retro game rescue crew at Nightdive first launched the Kickstarter campaign to remake System Shock in 2016, the studio ambitiously thought it could be finished in a year and a half. (...)
Three more years in, it's nearly finished: Pre-orders are available starting Thursday, and Nightdive's head of business development Larry Kuperman told me the launch isn't far off. The plan is for System Shock to be out this summer. A new demo, available for everyone to download today, represents a game that's finally almost at the finish line.
