Magic: Legends is an upcoming online action RPG set in the world of Magic: The Gathering. It was announced in 2017 and properly unveiled with a cinematic trailer at The Game Awards in 2019. There wasn't much information about the game at the time (that 2019 video was strictly a mood-setter) but an open beta is coming in March, and today developer Cryptic Studios shared more about its equipment system and customization options.

Despite appearing to be trapped in a death spiral, things appeared to turn around somewhat in 2020. A return to active Payday 2 development paid off—then-CEO Mikael Nermark said the resurgence of Payday 2 "confirms the interest in a future release of Payday 3 and lays a stable foundation for continued efforts"—and the studio began looking for a publishing partner for the sequel. One year later, it looks like the turnaround is almost complete.

PlayStation classic Ridge Racer was almost a PC game
https://www.pcgamer.com/playstation-classic-ridge-racer-was-almost-a-pc-game/
I've been reading The Games That Weren't, an interesting book about videogames that were made, or partly made, yet never saw the light of day. And I was intrigued to discover that Namco's Ridge Racer, one of the greatest arcade racers of all time, was originally going to have an official PC release in 1996—until Sony decided it wanted to keep it to itself.
Final Fantasy 14 expansions could keep coming for another five years

Final Fantasy 14's next expansion, Endwalker, is closing the book on the game's decade-long story. But far from ringing in the end of Square Enix' wildly popular MMO, director Naoki Yoshida reckons there should be at least another five years of new stories to bring to Eorzea.
Minit gets a sidescrolling racer offshoot with Minit Fun Racer
https://www.pcgamer.com/minit-gets-a-sidescrolling-racer-offshoot-with-minit-fun-racer/
Minit was a nifty little Zelda-like with a grim twist: every 60 seconds its playable character mysteriously died. It's not a game you'd expect to spawn its own racer, but spawn one it has, in the form of Minit Fun Racer. It's available on Steam right now and publisher Devolver will donate all proceeds to charities, including Doctors Without Borders and Special Effect.
