It's a ridiculous situation. Even more now with those crypto miners buying hundreds of laptops to put them into farming.
AMD and Nvidia will have to end doing something drastic about it, either forcing partners to control where their GPUs go or by limiting hoe effective their cards are for mining by some kind of software/BIOS update.

It's hard to guess, but given the limited info we have thanks to the leaked info, both architectures will bring big improvements.
