Still, if that is a problem for EA, then it should have done something about it when the original game launched, not now. Now it's too late and the only thing that they'll achieve with it is piss of potential customers that don't like censorchip in their games, specially if it's retroactive.

There will be people who like this change, and some of them will buy the game too. Not sure they're gonna win any new customers by doing this though, so it's probably more of a loss sales-wise. I mean, who's going to think "I really hated how they presented female characters in Mass Effect but since they're going to fix it, I'll buy the game"? Or "I don't care about the game but they're doing good stuff so I'll support them"? On the other hand, a small amount of players are probably going to not buy the game because of this.

Sadly, I don't think that kind of crowd exists. You see, there's a lot of people that complain about what they don't like, but once the change happens, those complainers count that change as a victory without really giving it any value other than the fact that they've won. And then they simply move to complain about something else. They won't support the game.

On the other hand, those that won't buy the game because of this do exist, even if they're not that many.
