DSOGaming Giveaway – Win a free copy of Hitman 3
https://www.dsogaming.com/editorial/dsogaming-giveaway-win-a-free-copy-of-hitman-3/
January is almost over so it’s time for our monthly giveaway. This month, we’re giving away a free copy of Hitman 3. Hitman 3 is an optimized PC game (as we wrote in our PC Performance Analysis), and a worthy conclusion to the Hitman trilogy.
As with our previous contests, you can participate in this giveaway by simply leaving a ‘Thank You’ comment below. We will delete both duplicate and off-topic comments. We will also delete comments from all the accounts that were created for this or previous giveaways (Disqus provides information on when you signed up).
Moreover, your account must have at least 60 comments. We’ve implemented this rule so that we can prevent all the accounts that some users have created solely for giveaways. Comments from accounts that have less than 60 total comments (or have comments only on giveaways) will be deleted. If you are new, you can start engaging with all other users in the Comment section and then participate in future giveaways.
The winner will be picked randomly via Random.org and comments will be counted from oldest to newest. This giveaway contest will end on Sunday, January 31st at 22:00GMT.
Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition is free on the Epic Store
https://www.pcgamer.com/dandara-trials-of-fear-edition-is-free-on-the-epic-store/
A fresh Thursday delivers unto us a fresh new free game on the Epic Store, although to be fair this one isn't quite "new" in the strictest sense. It's Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition, "a prickly 2D Metroidvania with a curious twist" that was originally released in 2018.
>> And next week the free game will be "For The King".
Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator is free-to-keep on Steam for a limited time
https://www.pcgamer.com/ultimate-epic-battle-simulator-is-free-to-keep-on-steam-for-a-limited-time/
Back when Fallout 4 released there were tonnes of YouTube videos showing what would happen if, for example, 1,000 Synths faced off against 50 Super Mutant Behemoths. Answering these kinds of questions is extraordinarily important, and it's why we game on PC. It didn't take long for a game to release that was all about pitting hordes of AI against one another: Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator.
It's basically a sandbox game about creating preposterous skirmishes. There's a huge spread of different units to choose from, everything from actual Medieval soldiers through to chickens (anyone who has played a Zelda game knows that chickens hit hard). It didn't review particularly well at launch, but if that persuaded you not to try the game, you might as well give it a go now: it's currently free on Steam.
>> The deal will last until Monday.

Almost 750 million free games were claimed on the Epic Games Store last year
https://www.pcgamer.com/almost-750-million-free-games-were-claimed-on-the-epic-games-store-last-year/
Whatever your feelings on the Epic Games Store, one thing's for certain—a whole lotta people grabbed the platform's weekly freebies over the past 12 months. At least, according to Epic's fancy 2020 year-in-review infographic.
Posted earlier today, Epic's recollection flaunts some staggering numbers regarding the platform's past year. Headlining the showcase is news that over 160 million people bought something from the Epic Games Store last year (up from 108 million in 2019), spending over $700 million altogether.
But the Epic Games Store is probably best known for its free giveaways, and boy, did people take advantage of those. More than 103 free games were given away in 2020, an amount that would've cost about $2,407 to buy at full-price. Over the year, those freebies were claimed just over 749 million times.
