The incredibly popular Fall Guys teased something Doom-related a while ago, and the above trailer has just dropped for the three new costumes. And for once they're pretty decent: there's a chibi Cacodemon, a winningly gormless-looking Cyberdemon, and a rather acid green shade of Doom Slayer himself. I wonder what type of Fall Guy he would be.

PUBG's new reputation system wants you to play nice

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has added a new reputation system in an attempt to encourage friendlier behaviour on the battlefield.
Arriving as part of patch 10.2 (currently live on the game's test servers), PUBG will soon slap a number from 0-5 next to your profile in the Team Finder, letting prospective squadmates know roughly how pleasant you are to play with. As long as you're not showing "toxic or otherwise disruptive behaviour", this number should rise steadily over the course of play as you complete matches.

Action RPG fans eager to get their hands on Path of Exile 2 probably shouldn't hold their breath, as the ambitious sequel-expansion (see our preview here) seems unlikely to launch this year. Free-to-play MMO Neverwinter, which is set in the popular Dungeons & Dragons campaign world of the Forgotten Realms just like Baldur's Gate, is about to get a three-part expansion. It's called Sharandar, and it'll take players back to elfy woodland areas introduced in the original Neverwinter expansion, Fury of the Feywild, only "revamped and re-visualized".

Arriving next Thursday, January 14, Cold War's first mid-season update was revealed alongside patch notes for yesterday's Call Of Duty patch (one that infamously didn't quite nerf Warzone's DMR hard enough). While that update added some neat twists to existing multiplayer modes, next week sees Treyarch introduce a new mode, Dropkick.

Any Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player knows the sinking feeling of a teammate disconnect. As a game that takes the competitive experience seriously, CS:GO locks players into matches and punishes leavers with increasingly lengthy bans: not that this stops players leaving, or being kicked, especially after a team's lost the first couple rounds. That player is then replaced by a bot, which has terrible AI but can be taken-over by a dead player on the team.
Players have long requested various tweaks to the bots, but boy does the latest CS:GO have a surprise: it's removed them from classic competitive (5v5) and the wingman (2v2) modes entirely.

I'm increasingly convinced that the next big thing in games tech isn't ray-traced puddles or eye-watering 8K displays, but voxels. Laugh all you want, but go ahead and look at John Lin's captivating water up there and tell me I'm wrong, I dare you. Malindy Hetfield first spotted Lin's lush voxel forests for us last November. Since then, your man's been plugging away at the project, showing off clouds of butterflies and moody moonlit pups. But it's this week's update that really blew me away, with a dive into some absolutely staggering water physics.
