Why don't Sony and Microsoft update their top selling games every financial period?

I'm curious, have Nintendo done the same during Wii U/3DS era? 

Nintendo is very transparent with their data.  Here is the report for the FY ending March 2013 (last page).  None of the sales figures are terribly flattering, but it's all there.

There is no guessing when it comes to Nintendo data.  They have their total system sales on one page with a nice graphic for each system.  They put the Wii U and DS all on the same page.  I know exactly how much each system shipped.  With Sony I have to guess on some systems.
