You overlooked one fact: Sony published FFVII when it was release in America.  Infinite Undiscovery is being published by S-E, not Microsost.  Name one game was was advertised by a company other than the publisher of the game.

 

Exclusive games are advertised by Sony/MS all the time, even when they don't publish the games.  Plus you Have GTA4, which had massive ad campaigns by Microsoft and Sony.  And from what i have heard before Sony does lots of this, instead of giving just cash to companies for games they do the ad campaign and help with the retail/packaging costs.
