Steam gamers are mostly just gamers without any side interest. In console space you have people that think it is hip and cool to own a console and then are *shocked* that games on the device actually express artistic ideas of the devs.

Steam has its own share of crazy nuts who react to stuff on it: I've seen my Jim Sterling. 

Of course someone needs to go say something to create that sort of reaction so...
