I am not interested in SD downloads - I can get it elsewhere, both downloadable and physical. If Sony don't roll out HD downloads, then no dice for me. If they roll out HD downloads, then I'm in, but wouldn't that affect their Blu-ray sales? It would seem that they are competing against each other.

And even if you don't have an HDTV, why (apart from a possible price difference) would you buy SD? HD can be downscaled and look nice, but upscaled SD won't look as nice.


I'm pretty sure HD downloads won't exist for some time. You might as well say something like "I won't support the Wii until it supports HD resolution."

You do realize that even with the largest hard drives HD movies would quickly fill the hard drive, right?

The PS3 (your opiate of choice) has poor waggle implementation. I guess I should pass on buying a PS3 and 360 because "I won't support any console with a lack of/poorly implemented waggle."

You're suggesting that it's reasonable when I buy a console that only supports SD, knowing that it only supports SD, to suddenly expect HD content out of it, but that it's unreasonable to expect HD content on an HD console?

I realize that these machines (PS3, 360) are supposed to be multimedia hubs. As such, I should be able to download whatever I want directly to my 1TB NAS? Yeah, who's talking about using a 80GB HD?
