@XGamer.

Actually neither the N64 or the GC can really be considered complete failures, Nintendo made large amounts of cash with both of them. The Wii is also struggling to get third party support but there is no way it could be claimed to have in any way failed.

OT: Didn't Sony once own both Spyro and Crash? Why they sold off two (back then) very solid platformers I don't understand. Those were some of the best games on the PS1.

I'm still wondering why did they do that..

Naughty Dog made Crash and Insomniac made Spyro. After the PS1 days, the two devs wanted to make new franchises (Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank, respectively). So why would Sony hold onto those two IPs when the studios don't even want to make those games? Would you really rather have Crash and Spyro over Jak and Ratchet?

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
