Ring Fit Adventure and New Horizon have driven a huge 152% growth for Nintendo in "Other" region last quarter and with Ring Fit finally resolving it's stock problems by officially launching in China in September, it's looking like this Quarter we will see huge growth for the two franchises and a big part of it will come from Asia. If we are to apply 150% growth in South Korea & Taiwan these are the numbers we would get:

Taiwan Hardware: 491K

Taiwan Software: 2.8M

South Korea Hardware: 965K

South Korea Software: 3.9M

For comparison in France Switch sold 1.250.000 hardware in 2019, so even a 100% growth YOY would be considerable while 150% being really difficult to phantom. Yet with COVID, New Horizon and Ring Fit Adventure - it's actually possible that we are seeing accelerated growth for Nintendo this year compared to 2019. Compare this to the growth in the main markets last financials, 67% in Japan61% in the Americas and 72% in Europe. South Korea and Taiwan give us insights on what to expect this holiday season - provided Nintendo is able to supply enough consoles to meet demand in all the countries they've officially launched.

There is a further point, South Korea and Taiwan give us a hint regarding the potential popularity of the Switch in mainland China.

New Horizon hasn't even launched officially in China btw, as the strict regulations basically mean that the only games you can buy on the Switch on a Chinese Switch are Ring Fit Adventure(launched in September), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe; NSMBUD & Super Mario Odyssey(launched in March).

So outside of RFA and New Horizon, you can expect those three games to benefit from being the only Nintendo titles available officially on the Switch in China this quarter. If Nintendo manages to somehow get New Horizon, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, Pokemon Sword / Shield, Smash Ultimate launched in the coming quarters in China - they could very well see huge growth in the coming years. Especially New Horizon could become an unimaginable success, if Switch and it's games start to become readily available on the biggest video game market in the near future.
