I aim for high settings and then just as high res as I can go and maintain 60fps (or close enough freesync makes it unnoticeable). So Far Cry 5 I ran at 70% scale (~1512p) on my 4k monitor. Hitman I can hit 4k60 if I turn SSAO off. Eventually I'll have to start making compromises but it's probably not until I can't run 1440p at medium settings that I'll start thinking about upgrading.

Well, I'm not sure if that card can run DLSS or if it's limited to RTX cards, but if it can it will help you a lot.
