Yeah neither have a good history with ports with PC in particular. Maybe its because they are open world games and needed to be coded differently? I have clue lol. Tomb Raider came out with a nice surprising result.

But yeah hopefully Cyberpunk will be a good test for our new gear :)

I mean, some folks out there think GTA V is a masterwork of a PC port, but really they just whipped it up in 1-2yrs since the last gen ports, and even then it demanded far more power compared to last gen and even current gen, the same way RDR2 is demanding so, so much more than current gen, and I'm just sitting here like "why?, why DO YOU WANT 5x MORE POWER YOU UTTER NONCE?".

Like I get that 4k res in those games will absolutely tax systems, but I was looking at benches for like 1080p-1440p, some ultra, some high settings, some MSAA, some with it on, but at that point I saw that the game was just asking for more than it would actually give. The game still suffered those shadow bugs and still does to this day. The shadow draw distances are like watching a slideshow appearing before your very eyes as you drive down a highway, and it's all because the game is still in some way tied to last gen draw distances.

Then there's Ubisoft and their console parity crock, like with origins, Oddesy also ended up sporting the exact same texture detail on PC that consoles have. Then you have the Ai's, the same level you get on console, byet demanding far more from your GPU/CPU on PC, like what in the actual Ubisoft?.

You know that dude that made that video about how Ultra settings are a complete joke these days?, he really wasn't kidding and was more on the mark for modern AAA PC settings. I look at these games demanding so much more, for so very little in return and I can't seem to find a fuck to give for wanting to buy any of these, because what's the point when they either run like trash, or look like a 1yr port job, with no night/day differences when it comes to attention to detail for PC ports.

These two tubers sum it up better:

I'm not really sure about Cyberpunk, primarily because of what we eventually got with Witcher 3 vs what we could have had, coupled with the devs going "we didn't downgrade PC" over and over, but it showed, and now we've had a modder called Halk Hogan, who's spent years retexturing the world in higher detail and he's so far outdone CDPR's texture team easily. I would seriously hire that modder to help with Witcher 3 next gen update, if I were them. Raytracing is definitely nice, but fuck that free update if it doesn't come with higher res textures, and the very high possibility of their update breaking Halk's texture mod for me (the same way bethesda game updates constantly fuck with my Skyrim SE/F4 mods).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
