So when an executive says something notable it isn’t plastered all over gaming forums and Twitter? How people discuss and share their impressions. You think that won’t translate at all into the real world with friends? Please...don’t be so naive.

Again, MS said their stance in January. Sony said the exact same thing before their console launched. That to me is BS.

Sony never once claimed nor implied there wouldn’t be cross gen games.

Doesn’t take much to understand that studios didn’t stop working just to wait for PS5 dev kits. Many already had games in development for the PS4 and started making a PS5 version after getting dev kits. No reason to twist this into some kind of stupid foul play on Sony’s part. You are the one creating this narrative that Sony somehow lied, by twisting their words and intentions, because you revel in spreading FUD and creating discord between each console’s fanbases.

You are correct. Sony never outright said it, but based on these news articles (and comments) the confusion was certainly there and they did nothing to correct it. Btw, I'm surprised you don't remember this because you actually commented in one of those news articles, and that was not that long ago.

Well Several media and people have been saying about lack of power, SSD being worse than an external disk, console not ready, consoles burning in manufacturing, overheat issue on bestbuy, and several other bad rumors about PS5. Sony didn't answered any of those, so why do you think they would for this one?

That's not the point. The point is that Hynad is acting like he, and many others, were never caught up in the misunderstanding and that they always knew that all these games were coming to PS4. Heck, he is acting like he didn't even know there was a misunderstanding. As if we were not here to read his comments back then. That was less than two months ago for God's sake.

Your point had complain that Sony didn't clarified on people spreading news how they see fit and fans acting one way or another. Sony haven't talked much this year on any subject so there is no point in wanting they to go and talk more about this specific one. Even BC they have posted very few and got a lot of flack and miss reports and complains. So if you want to focus on how Hynad acted them focus on his action not on Sony saying what you want to hear.

Well, my intention was not to complain about Sony not clarifying anything. I really don't care about what Sony says since that doesn't directly affect me, but in order to call Hynad out I had to mention Sony, I'm sorry.

But since you seem so against the idea of anyone mentioning Sony, I'm actually now feeling the desire to post a piece of the interview that started this whole thing:

One way to keep PS4 users engaged would be to make upcoming PS5 games playable on the older machine, just like Microsoft is proposing with its Xbox Series X games being playable on Xbox One. Yet Ryan says that's not something PlayStation is interested in doing.

"We have always said that we believe in generations. We believe that when you go to all the trouble of creating a next-gen console, that it should include features and benefits that the previous generation does not include. And that, in our view, people should make games that can make the most of those features.

"We do believe in generations, and whether it's the DualSense controller, whether it's the 3D audio, whether it's the multiple ways that the SSD can be used... we are thinking that it is time to give the PlayStation community something new, something different, that can really only be enjoyed on PS5."

I guess we already discussed this last week and how he didn't say anything about not having crossgen games or anything, just that he believes in generation and making games that make use of PS5, guess what Sackboy, SM:MM even though crossgen makes very good use of PS5. With SM being the best use of RT so far and sackboy using several features of the controler and the cards+video tips. Then you have Astro's Playroom and Demon's Souls which can only be enjoyed on PS5. So yes he didn't lie nor imply anything. Every miss interpretation was done in intent by other people. Which is very different of MS explicitly saying they don't want to force people to move to new gen and that all their games would be crossgen for the next 2 years (which they well we already have some that will be Series only) and after that saying X1 wouldn't hold the Series version, when well for all purposes it seems it did as no game is pushing Series (is there any game on Series that looks better than Demon's Souls or SM:MM?). So it is quite clear why one is met with more criticism than the other by general public.
