Scariest thing I ever encountered in any game was a Metroid in the original NES game. I didn't know how to kill it. It would just latch on and drain away all my life. I did eventually figure out I could freeze it. So I would just freeze them and run like hell. I'd have a whole bunch of them following me until I got to Mother Brain's room. Scary as hell.
