Community tool DS4Windows already has early support for the PS5 DualSense controller

The PlayStation 5 doesn't launch until November 12, but that hasn't stopped the savvy programmers behind popular tool DS4Windows from supporting the new DualSense controller. Sony's new controller shipped out to some folks early, and someone's already gotten the controller working with DS4Windows over Bluetooth.
For a bit more context, the DualSense controller does sort of work with Windows out of the box. It uses the DirectInput API, which some games support, but most do not; the more modern XInput Microsoft designed for the Xbox controller is much more common. You can already use Steam's controller configurator to get the DualSense working on PC, but that's only useful if you're playing games on Steam (or add them to your Steam library).
DS4Windows is an open source tool designed to make the DualShock 4 controller play nice with Windows. It lets you control the lightbar on the DS4 and make more specific tweaks than Steam's configurator, and makes it easy to use the DS4 in non-Steam games, too. Over the weekend, someone posted a fork of DS4Windows on Github that "supports connecting to the DualSense only over Bluetooth connection." There are some caveats: the build won't work for DualShock 4 controllers, because it's "basically a hacky-implementation." It does support the controller's new mic mute button, but not many other significant features: the haptics, the lightbar, multitouch on the touchpad, controlling the lightbar, or seeing a battery percentage readout.

God of War 3 & Gran Turismo 5 run better than ever on PC via RPCS3

The team behind the best Playstation 3 emulator for the PC, RPCS3, has released a new video, highlighting the performance patches for Gran Turismo 5 and God of War 3.
According to the team, God of War 3 is almost playable on RPCS3 as it almost never crashes and can indeed be finished. With an Intel i9 9900K at 5.0Ghz, PC gamers can achieve 50fps at 1440p. So, while there is still work to be done, you can lock its framerate to 30fps and play this PS3-exclusive GoW game on the PC. Or wait until a newer version manages to run it with 60fps.
Furthermore, a new performance patch for Gran Turismo 5 allows you to unlock its framerate. As such, PC gamers can now run this sim with more than 60fps. A new graphics patch was also released for The Last of Us that fixes its Bloom effect. Furthermore, an updated version of the MLAA patch for TLoU fixes the green particles.

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.14 released, brings combat, multiplayer & performance improvements

Crystal Dynamics has released the November 10th update for Marvel’s Avengers. According to the release notes, patch 1.14 brings a number of combat, multiplayer, matchmaking and performance improvements.
