The more I think about it, the more I am leaning towards waiting until 2022. The performance is excellent no doubt but it doesn't quite beat Intel universally but rather trades blows in gaming. Because of that, buying into a single generation platform doesn't feel right as there is no upgrade path. So because I have a 3900x, I think I am going to wait for DDR5, PCI-E 5 and see how Zen 4 does against Alder Lake in 2022.
