Are people who buy 500$ + CPU's gaming at 1080p still? I've been doing 1440p for years now and plan on jumping to 4K next year. The new Ryzen series are really impressive but they're not really the gaming beasts some make them out to be unless you're at the lower of the resolution spectrum. The advantages of a Ryzen 5000 series + a 6000 series GPU could be more interesting though!

All in all, I'm really glad AMD is back to being competitive for real, it helps everyone, regardless of taste and wishes.

You have to keep in mind that even with the latest graphic cards, most games are still GPU limited at 4K, and some also at 1440p. That's why the higher the resolution, the smaller the difference between processors is. Even the 3000 series was able to keep up with Intel at 4K.
