Otherwise the PS5 is just two Playstation 4 consoles. (36 > 18 CU's.)
Or in more lamens terms... The PS5's 36CU is inferior to 2013's Radeon R9 290 with 40 CU's... And that just isn't the case.
Just like flops, CU's isn't comparable between one chip and another.
You *can* have a 36 CU GPU offer 50% more performance than another 36CU GPU.
It does mean the Series X and Playstation 5 are mid-range in terms of GPU capability... But that was always going to happen.
