Was "resident evil" a phrase before the game? I tried to Google it but I'm coming up with nothing. I do remember a quote from an old Outkast song from the ATLiens album that says: "The resident evil specialised in misconstruing"
I always assumed it meant the evil people in power or something like that. The game and the song both came out in 1996, though.
