Though this site has always had a slightly higher amount of gay members than most sites I frequent. But that could be for many reasons. 

Yeah, it might be a bit higher than 5% due to closeted folk, but I'd be shocked if the percentage of LGBT people in the world is over 10%. 

It's not just closeted people, though. Current society massively discourages sexual exploration, so I expect a huge number of at least bi people who don't even know they are because they never dared to explore. LGB population might be 20% or more.
