Though this site has always had a slightly higher amount of gay members than most sites I frequent. But that could be for many reasons. 

Yeah, it might be a bit higher than 5% due to closeted folk, but I'd be shocked if the percentage of LGBT people in the world is over 10%. 

Based on empirical experience, I have always suspected that is actually way higher than that. Most of my sexual partners over the years identify themselves as straight, and pretty much all of my gay friends have multiple stories with allegedly straight people. That is why I tend to believe anonymous polls more.
