Recommend me a good (not too expensive) game pad?

Thanks for all your input. For now I've ordered that wireless USB adapter from 8BitDo so I can use my Wii U pro controller. I'll just see how that works first.

The upcoming controllers for the Series S/X are a bit expensive for my taste, but they look comfy to use and probably work great with Windows. How good is the D-pad on Xbox controllers in your experience?
