The evidence is in who he is and what he did. This guy has been in the industry for many years. The guy has founded companies and worked in fairly high profile management roles. You don't get there without knowing politics and power of words. Someone like this does not show up to a press event / forum without agenda. To believe that such a person gets so excited and does outright trash talk that should only be on IM or in bars is hard to believe. In another words, it's much more likely it was calculated for sensationalism and press. Remember, he's not talking to casual fans, he's talking to insiders and press (can't go to GDC if you're not, this is not E3). So, it's rational to infer that he had an agenda to provide sensational Wii related press. Now, this guy works for Maxis / EA. The studio which has placed Wii in distant third in terms of resources until recently. A company which has weak financials and the last thing they need is to invest additional resources. They have everything to gain from poor Wii press. All I did was connect the dots. I think it's a perfectly valid theory. I think that it's further substantiated by the retraction that's pretty clear it's something that's "encouraged" by the company. Making the idea that the original statement was encouraged perfectly logical
