They get to advertise their 2020 lineup and toss in the remastered and complete editions of Spiderman, TLOU2, FF7r, Nioh 1+2, Ghost and Dreams and pretend they're part of their PS5 library. I am sure Uncharted 4, Horizon, Bloodborne, and GoW are making their way to the PS5 sooner than later as well. Don't forget, SONY has a successful record of selling a few months-old PS3 game as an immensely successful PS4 title. They can do this again with the PS5 at much a larger scale because of the similar hardware architecture. The people who like to pretend that the fireproof PS4 exclusive 2020 line up doesn't matter since we're flipping the page on what has been an embarrassment of a generation for MS, are the same people defending Phil's cross-gen strategy. " https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=9180830 Kinda predicted this to happen, using the PS4 exclusive games to leverage the PS5 as a console rich with triple AAA games from the get go is smart. It certainly makes the Xbox Launch lineup look even more anemic. Admittedly, I thought they'd find a way to re-sell those games, but I guess releasing them as they are free of charge makes up for the lack of "remastering". |
Well to most people a new gen wipes the slate clean. You guys talk about new experiences only on next gen... funny I see the tone changing now.
If we talking old games bolstering the launch of a new gen, then Xbox wins hands down with Game Pass. Combined with EA Play and day 1 games the average user will play more games then you while you spend several hundred more per year if you even attempt to play the amount of games we are.
Nevermind the BC program that puts the competition to shame. If your argument is old games bolstering the value of a new console, you can really only make the case if you talking about PS exclusives. But even then this isn’t like 360 users migrating to Ps4 due to Xbox One backlash. People that bought the PS4 remasters because it was new. Most people who own a PS4 now already played those games.
