43% increase in performance for a 23% increase in power consumption, comparing the RTX 3080 with the RTX 2080 Ti.
I mean, Nvidia once made the public believe the 7900 to 8800 jump was out of this world (100% more performance... for 80% more power consumption) but at least back then they used the same manufacturing node to do so.
Would AMD be lauded too if they had released, say, a 375 W 700 mm2 monolith back in 2014 to blow Maxwell out of the water?
