I totes think you or PEM should make a thread on this, because I think this is really useful and important info that can help snuff out the silly misconceptions some people on here and around the net are currently having.
This is why I'm not all that worried about the RTX 3080, because it's a new memory type for one, and I know Nvidia wouldn't just ship out a "flagship" card, only for it to fail and burn at the start or middle of next gen gaming, because that'd be financial suicide and well, a case for the courts.
