The DF thing? Nope, there was no XSX demo there, rather it was the XB1X.
I just find it really strange though with what MS is doing with the XSX. I mean, there whole marketing push or image for next-gen has been all about being the most powerful console and 4K@120fps whatnot. And then the only platform to show anything of what next-gen games will really look like on actual next-gen hardware are the ones that aren't even saying anything about power.
Its even more puzzling when you consider that MS has had a whole failed generation (7years or lets even call it 4 years to be fair) to plan for this. What else needs to happen for them to realize that the primary thing that sells consoles are games. They keep trying to make their console push be always about something else. Current gen it was TV, the cloud, and media centre. Now for next-get its gamepass.

Understandable. I mean, if I have nothing more than $499 to spend on an Xbox tied ecosystem, then surely I would get an Xbox. Hel, if I don't have that I will just go with the XSS which could've anywhere between $299 - $349.
I guess what I am really saying, is that MS making all their software available on day 1 on another platform (PC) just gives people a reason to not have to buy an Xbox period. And at the end of the day thats what it comes down to, MS is pretty much guaranteeing that it will never be the better selling console, and if we consider the majority of console buyers as budget-minded buyers, then that's an entire market they are relinquishing to sony. Cause people buy what their friends have and game on that platform. Why do you think all a sudden MS has been very pro-cross-play of late?
