That will be a never ending chase =p because then next year they will put even more effects and you need to dial down. And DLSS2.0 have its shortcomings and artifacts added.

True, but the leaps aren't usually this big. Night and day compared to my current GPU, plus DLSS 2.0 is identical to native in motion. If you pause and pixel peep side by side there are slight differences but nothing that is detectable during gameplay.

I'd rather spend the money to get the improved performance at a higher resolution when it's a viable option, compared to launch day of PS5. As said before, I'm still getting a PS5 just not straight away anymore as I can't afford to do both. 90% of games I play on PC and the rest 10% are PS Exclusives, there aren't going to be many for a while so I'd rather enjoy the benefits of shiny new things in my main gaming machine.

Well from what I saw on the DF videos even though DLSS is quite good it isn't identical, also PS5 and Xbox will have their own machine learning upscale techniques. And yes the leaps aren't 80% on 2 years but still you don't really need the jump, but sure I completely understand your reason to wanting to do so, but well for me that is to much money for a small gain. If you were talking about having a old GPU that wouldn't be able to play next gen decently then sure go for it, but I don't think in the end the gains will be all you think they will be. 80% gain on DF comparison when considered diminishing returns won't really translate to that much visual gain. But again that is your main platform so for you it may make a lot more sense than it would for me =p

Also you don't really need PS5 at launch, you could do fine on waiting 2 years on both and saving some =p (well I expect PS5 to drop price in 2 to 3 years, but not that experienced with GPUs to say how much you would have to wait to see a drop on 3080).
